We've Just Begun...
Looking Back at 2016
We’ve had another exciting year at Pregnancy Resource Center
East. We have officially been in our current location for one full year.
The transition has been reasonably smooth and the service to our clients, seamless. Praise the Lord! We are at this location to honor God with our wise stewardship of the resources He has made available to His ministry as He prepares us for our “Forever Home”.
During this past year our staff has seen some changes. Dear friends have transitioned to retirement and new friends have joined in. The continuity is God’s vision for His people. At Pregnancy Resource Center East we exhibit that vision through “demonstrations of love” toward His people, our clients.
Our client demand has remained steady during the transition and as a matter of fact continues to be in excess of our Client Advocate staff to satisfy. We need you! Please pray about how God would like to use you in this ministry. Training will be made available to you and progressive instruction will be provided to help you develop the skills needed for this ministry. Thank you in advance for your prayers in this area.
Milestones this year:
This past year the pregnancy center was blessed with its first ever, BRAND NEW 3D/4D ultrasound machine thanks to the faithful campaigning of local Knights of Columbus Councils headed up by George Foster, Chancellor of Council 7206 along with help from Dr. Robert Allen, past Grand Knight of Council 7206. Their diligent work was combined with generous matching funds from The Supreme Council. Our ultrasound tech can work with reliable technology and our client can now see a very clear picture of the new life being formed in her womb.
Sanctity of Human Life Sunday and Baby Bottle Blessings raised a significant amount to help us carry forth the mission of this center. Don’t forget to take a baby bottle home between Mother’s Day and Father’s Day or any time your group decides.
Baytown Family Expo brought more community businesses and patrons out to see what this life-affirming ministry has to offer. The Expo is a fun time of fundraising for the pregnancy center. It is also a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness of our services to more business “friends” as well as potential volunteers, supporters and clients who may never have found us without this event. Please be sure to stop by Baytown Family Expo Sat. March 4th, 2017. Bring your family and tell your friends! This is another fun way to support the ministry.
Banquet was an evening of fun, fellowship and some serious talk in the beautiful setting of Sylvan Beach Pavilion. If you missed it, please make plans to come to Banquet 2017. Funds raised from this event topped any banquet we’ve held thus far because our supporters showed ingenuity in ways to raise money for this ministry. One example is the custom made knife by Pastor Danny Biddy which he allowed us to auction online up to the day of the event. Skydiving, Gun Range, Concealed Handgun License Classes, Tactical Firearm Classes were just of few of the offerings at our Silent Auction on banquet evening.
Baby Showers/Diaper Drive is another way supporters have found to bless this ministry. Our beautiful Hope Boutique is well outfitted with diapers, baby clothes, and baby toiletries because people heeded the call (the e-mail blast) for more baby clothes and diapers throughout the year.
Speaking of e-mail communications, in an effort to reduce spending on printing and postage, Pregnancy Resource Center East is working hard to whittle down our printed mailings to semi-annually only. All other notifications will be done online through e-mail. Will you prayerfully consider allowing us to send our regular newsletters and information to you by e-mail instead of postal service mailings? We have enclosed a short questionnaire for your response. Of course, we will continue to send the printed mailer to you if e-mail is not your communication method of choice. Just please respond by sending back the questionnaire or e-mail your response to us at: email@example.com. Every savings helps. Thank you.
Most important is when a client comes to the Center with a heaviness of uncertainty, showing the burden in the crestfallen look on her face to the stoop in her shoulders. But she leaves the Center with a newfound hope that God really does have a plan for her that He desires her to have. She comes to The Hope Program to receive education and help with baby items but also has her new faith energized and reinforced through all our Biblically based teachings and studies. Finally, she leaves the program once her baby reaches one year of age with an encouragement that she didn’t at first realize was possible –ready to move her family along a different, more positive path than she was headed when she came to us. All this is made possible because God stirred the hearts of a few ladies over 20 years ago to begin this ministry to women in crisis. God is faithful.
May God Richly Bless You in this New Year!
