Essential Functions:

 

The Store Manager is responsible for the day-to-day running of the store.The aim of the position of Store Manager is to maximize profit while minimizing costs.The Store Manager ensures promotions are accurate and merchandised to the company’s standards, staff are fully versed on the target for the day and excellent customer care standards are met.

 

Store Manager Job Duties

 

  • Manage and motivate sales team to increase sales and ensure efficiency

  • Manage stock levels and make key decisions about stock control

  • Analyze sales figures and forecast future sales

  • Analyze and interpret trends to facilitate planning

  • Use Information technology to record sales figures, for data analysis and forward planning

  • Deal with staffing issues: interview potential staff, conduct performance reviews, provide and organize training and development

  • Ensure standards for customer service and health and safety are met

  • Resolve health and safety, legal and security issues

  • Respond to customer complaints and comments

  • Organize special promotions, displays and events

  • Attend and chair meetings

  • Update colleagues on business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues

  • Tour sales floor regularly, talking to staff and customers, and identify or resolve urgent issues

  • Maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understand forthcoming customer initiatives and monitor what local competitors are doing

  • Initiate changes to improve the business

  • Promote the organization locally by involving local churches and schools in special store emphasis’

  • Deal with sales as and when required

  • Help with stocking, pricing wherever is needed
